- We are currently seeking an experienced
- EHS Manager to join our project team in
Blyth, United Kingdom .
This role will be responsible for managing Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) activities on site, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and driving a strong safety culture across the project.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all Environmental, Health & Safety activities across the project lifecycle
- Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and management systems in line with company and legal requirements
- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture across all levels of the project
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate hazards
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Construction Managers, and subcontractors to ensure alignment on EHS practices
- Monitor subcontractor compliance and ensure adherence to health & safety standards
- Review and approve safety documentation, including method statements and risk assessments (RAMS)
- Manage incident investigations, reporting, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions
- Ensure delivery of safety inductions, toolbox talks, and ongoing training programmes
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, inspections, audits, and safety performance metrics
- Attend Site Meetings, Safety Meetings, and Project Reviews
- Prepare and issue EHS reports to senior management and stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, permits, and sustainability requirements
- Proactively identify and resolve EHS issues and implement continuous improvement initiatives
Skills & Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, or similar discipline
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in an EHS role within construction or engineering
- Strong knowledge of health & safety legislation, standards, and best practices
- Experience managing EHS on construction projects
- Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
- Relevant certifications (e. g., NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent) are essential
- Ability to engage with stakeholders and promote a proactive safety culture
- Data centre, industrial, or mission‑critical project experience is advantageous
