Actual Starting Salary: £27,362 - £29,850 based on Term Time only plus inset days. Full Time Equivalent Salary: £31,954 - £34,860 (CLF Grade D) based on Full Time hours, all year round.

We are seeking an Attendance Officer to join our team at Winterstoke Hundred Academy. The role involves working closely with parents and carers to improve attendance outcomes, ensuring pupils are supported, monitored, and encouraged to engage fully with academy life. You will promote a positive culture of attendance, maintain accurate statutory attendance records, and implement early interventions to support students.

About You:

  • Good literacy and numeracy skills, evidenced by GCSE Maths and English or equivalent qualifications or experience.
  • Understanding of the wide range of issues that can impact a young person’s attendance and a willingness to stay informed of developments in this area.
  • Good understanding of safeguarding within an educational setting or transferable safeguarding experience.
  • Strong administrative experience, including maintaining accurate records, following processes, handling sensitive information, and working to strict deadlines.
  • Excellent ICT skills, including the ability to analyse data, input information accurately, and produce high‑quality reports and statistics.
  • The ability to build strong, professional relationships with students, parents/carers, academy staff, and external agencies.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage challenging or sensitive conversations professionally.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively to achieve attendance targets and improve outcomes for pupils.
  • Full, clean driving licence with daily access to a vehicle and willingness to obtain business insurance.

About Winterstoke Hundred Academy:

Winterstoke Hundred Academy is named after the historic parish of Weston‑super‑Mare and launched as a new 11‑19 Academy in September 2020. The academy is growing each year, with Year 7 and post‑16 cohorts increasingly oversubscribed. It has recently opened a state‑of‑the‑art, net‑zero building at Locking Parklands for Years 7‑11, while post‑16 education continues at the original Beaufighter Road site.
