Areas of Responsibilities
- Source and originate credit opportunities, primarily in property finance (Buy-to-Let and development finance), through brokers, introducers, developers, and direct client relationships.
- Actively generate new credit leads and contribute to building a strong and sustainable lending pipeline for the Bank.
- Engage with clients to understand funding requirements and propose suitable lending solutions in line with Bank policies.
- Support structuring of real estate finance transactions from origination through to disbursement.
- Develop and maintain relationships with professional landlords, SPVs, LLPs, and property investors.
- Conduct client discussions to assess investment objectives, rental yields, and financing needs.
- Perform initial screening of credit proposals including borrower profile, LTV, DSCR, rental yield, and asset quality.
- Carry out preliminary affordability and rental coverage assessments in line with internal credit policy and UK PRA guidelines.
- Collect and verify required documentation for underwriting (income proofs, tenancy agreements, valuations, rental projections, etc.).
- Assist in preparation of indicative term sheets and support negotiations within approved parameters.
- Liaise with brokers, valuers, and solicitors to ensure efficient processing and timely conversion of opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with KYC, AML, and all applicable regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with internal teams (Credit Risk, Compliance, Legal) for smooth onboarding, approvals, and disbursements.
Description of Duties
- Work closely with Credit, Compliance, Risk, and Branch teams to support seamless client onboarding and transaction processing.
- Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities to grow the Bank’s credit portfolio.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with intermediaries, brokers, and clients to generate consistent deal flow.
- Support achievement of business targets through effective pipeline management and deal execution.
- Assist in end-to-end execution of credit proposals, from sourcing to disbursement.
Skills and Experience
- High level of integrity with strong adherence to compliance and regulatory standards.
- 4–5 years of experience in credit, lending, or financial services, with exposure to credit origination/sales.
- Good understanding of UK Buy-to-Let mortgage market, including rental stress tests, ICR, & basic underwriting parameters.
- Familiarity with FCA and PRA regulatory environment.
- Strong ability to generate leads and build client relationships in the property finance space.
- Basic to intermediate credit assessment and financial analysis skills.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Self-driven, target-oriented, and proactive approach to business development.
The responsibilities outlined above are indicative. The Relationship Manager – Credit will be required to undertake any additional responsibilities as assigned by the Head of Credit / Senior Management from time to time.
Profile Requirement
- Minimum 4–5 years of post-qualification experience in credit, banking, or financial services.
- Demonstrated ability to originate credit leads, build relationships, and contribute to portfolio growth.
- Exposure to handling client relationships and supporting credit proposals end-to-end is preferred.
- Strong inclination towards sales, business development, and credit structuring.
Qualifications
- Graduate (any discipline) from a government-recognized University or Institution and/or MBA (Finance) / PGDBA / PGDBM / CA / CFA/ ICWA (preferred).
