About the role
The successful candidate will be responsible for the daily operations and improvement of the stores department. This person will work closely with senior management to agree the goals and improvements required within the team before going away and implementing these changes. They will be required to work on their own initiative and respond quickly and efficiently to an ever-changing workplace.
Main responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Improve operational efficiency through implementation of lean practices and continuous improvements.
- Ensure accuracy of stock levels including completing a full annual stock count while investigating and explaining variances.
- Set and achieve operational goals and targets that achieve the company's strategic aims.
- Monitor and control direct costs such as transport and packaging.
- Monitor and train the stores team.
- Report on departments goals and performance to senior management.
- Agree and implement procedures and ensure teams compliance.
- Day to day running and management of the stores department.

The ideal candidate for this role is someone who has a proven track record of managing a warehouse or operations team. They will be looking to come in to a small team and make a big impact with continuous improvement ideas.
