This role is responsible for proactively managing and growing key client relationships. You will build long-term partnerships with clients, adding value through strategic, commercial and service-led engagement, while ensuring high-quality delivery across product and operational workstreams. A core part of the role is maintaining a strong focus on end investors, ensuring WBS consistently supports positive customer outcomes and meets its regulatory obligations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with institutional and professional clients across the UK investment market.
- Act as a trusted partner to clients, supporting their growth and delivering consistently high service standards and positive customer outcomes.
- Drive revenue growth through proactive commercial engagement and by identifying opportunities to deepen client relationships.
- Own and actively manage a portfolio of key accounts, delivering structured service and commercial reviews.
- Develop a strong understanding of client needs, business models and strategic priorities to deliver tailored solutions.
- Engage directly with senior client stakeholders and executives to align services with client objectives and future roadmap.
- Act as a senior escalation point for complex service or product issues, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
- Work closely with Product, Business Development, Operations, Risk and Compliance teams to deliver seamless client solutions.
- Ensure services are delivered in line with agreed SLAs and regulatory requirements, including FCA Consumer Duty obligations.
- Use management information and performance data to monitor client performance, identify risks and support decision-making.
- Lead, coach and develop a high-performing client relationship team, promoting accountability and ownership.
- Support the execution of the wider client strategy and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Promote a strong culture of compliance, risk management, integrity and client focus.
- Represent the business externally through industry events, forums and client engagement activities.

- Have proven experience in client relationship management, account management or client services within financial services or the investment industry.
- Have a strong commercial mindset with a track record of driving revenue growth and deepening client relationships.
- Are confident engaging with senior stakeholders and building trusted partnerships.
- Have experience managing complex client portfolios and delivering high service standards.
- Understand FCA-regulated environments and the importance of strong risk, compliance and Consumer Duty outcomes.
- Are comfortable acting as an escalation point and resolving issues in a professional, client-focused manner.
- Enjoy working cross-functionally with product, sales, operations and compliance teams.
- Have strong communication, influencing and relationship-building skills.
- Are proactive, organised and able to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Have leadership or team management experience (or are ready to step into a people leadership role).
