Senior Site Reliability Engineer with expertise in Linux O/S, SRE/DevOps, IaC, and Containerisation sought to join a newly launched Multi-Strategy Hedge Fund.
This is a new mission-critical hire to take ownership of the design, engineering. deployment, and management of hybrid infrastructure for the firm, working ground-up from Linux, Networks, Docker and Kubernetes, through to partnering with Application Development teams and Trading Pods, collaborating with a view to designing and implementing Cloud-Native Architectures (AWS), Microservices and Serverless applications. The Senior SRE will also Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to system performance and stability, and ensure system security is maintained and continuously improved.
This is an Individual Contributor (IC) hire, however it is likely that the successful recruit will take responsibility for helping to recruit a team of expert colleagues, and grow in to a Team Lead and later a hands-on management role, as the firm expands and matures. This is therefore a rare opportunity to join an incredibly well-backed Hedge Fund scale-up as the Founding Platform Engineer / SRE / Linux DevOps.
In depth knowledge of Linux based operating systems, ideally with around 5-10 years’ experience in Systems Engineering, SRE and/or DevOps, with a view to growing in the role as the business expands.
Experience designing, building and managing mission-critical infrastructure, along with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Chef, Terraform, Puppet or Ansible.
In depth knowledge of automation frameworks – including but not limited to automated testing, orchestration workflows, schema modification and Infrastructure-as-a-code principles.
Knowledge of network technologies, i.e., routers, switches, load balancers, firewalls, network and routing protocols, VPN, SDWAN Profile.
Capable of managing multiple concurrent projects efficiently while maintaining flexibility as priorities shift.
