Senior KDB+ Expert - Systematic Investment Firm

Senior KDB Expert sought to join a small but exceptional Systematic Investment firm (Mid-Frequency Quant Hedge Fund), as they transform the way the use they use Data across the business.

My client is a hugely respected Systematic Hedge Fund with around $10BN in Assets under Management and with a track-record dating back to the mid-90s.They employ around 200 staff, all of whom are London-based, and the business is especially well-regarded for its genuinely open, respectful, collaborative and non-siloed culture – leading to industry-leading staff retention and tenure.

The firm have been a user of KDB+/Q for only around two years, with the platform driving wide-spread transformation across the firm’s way-of-working, across both Data Capture and Tick-Data. A new opportunity has recently arisen for a senior and experienced KDB+ specialist to join in an Individual Contributor capacity as part of the Data function, tasked with identifying, owning, leading and delivering Greenfield KDB+ projects, while collaborating extensively with colleagues firmwide, across Quant Research, Portfolio Management, Quant Development and Software Engineering teams, as well as of course with their peers in the Data space. This role will also allow the successful individual to cross-train into modern Data Engineering tools and Technologies such as Airflow, dbt, Snowflake, as well further develop their skills Python, SQL and Market Data platforms. The firm work on a hybrid working schedule (three days per week onsite) in a Central West End location.

Requirements

• 5+ years’ experience as a KDB+/Q specialist in any Financial Markets setting (IB, HF, MM, Prop etc).
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, keen to work end-to-end from ideation to production.
• Preferably competent with Python, SQL and SDLC / DevOps tooling (Git, Docker, CI/CD, Monitoring, Testing, Agile).
• Passionate about business-impact, code quality, data integrity, and building scalable and robust systems.
