Our workshop is at the heart of our business, playing a vital role in delivering quality, safety, and customer satisfaction across both our online orders and in-store services.
We are looking for an experienced and qualified Workshop Manager to lead our busy workshop team. This is a hands-on leadership role within both an online and retail environment, requiring strong technical ability, excellent organisational skills, and a passion for delivering outstanding service.
About the RoleAs Workshop Manager, you will oversee the daily running of our workshop, ensuring the highest standards across servicing, repairs, online order builds, and in-store customer support. You will lead by example, maintaining quality, efficiency, and professionalism at all times.
Key Responsibilities- Carrying out bike servicing, repairs, diagnostics, and warranty work to a high professional standard.
- Completing PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection) builds for bikes ordered online, ensuring every bike leaves fully checked, safe, and built to the highest standard.
- Managing workshop workflow to meet turnaround targets for both online and in-store customers.
- Leading, training, and motivating workshop staff to maximise daily productivity and performance.
- Conducting staff reviews and supporting ongoing development and training.
- Maintaining accurate service records and warranty documentation.
- Ensuring high-quality control standards on every bike before handover or dispatch.
- Keeping the workshop clean, organised, safe, and well-maintained at all times.
- Monitoring tools, equipment, and consumables, ensuring proper maintenance and stock control.
- Supporting the retail shop floor when required, including speaking with and serving customers.
- Advising customers on repairs, servicing needs, and upgrades in a clear and professional manner.
- Carrying out bike builds for customers and occasional on-the-spot servicing where possible.
- Continuously reviewing and improving workshop systems and efficiency.
- Qualified and experienced cycle mechanic (industry-recognised qualifications preferred).
- Strong knowledge across road, MTB, commuter, and e-bikes.
- Previous workshop supervisory or management experience.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
- Confident communicating with customers both in person and over the phone.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced retail and e-commerce environment.
- A proactive, positive, and solutions-focused approach.
Β£30,000 β Β£35,000 per annum (dependent on experience).
