We are searching for the best education professionals for the role of Spanish Language Assistant (Part-Time).

Permanent, Part Time. 27.5 hours per week, term time only between the hours of 8.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. (as agreed with the Head of Department).

Salary: Points S7 – S10, starting at £25,951 - £27,733 per annum [pro-rata] (actual £17,137.74 - £18,314.55 per annum)

Winstanley College is a large sixth form college specialising in A Levels and Level 3 courses. The college has an excellent reputation for achievement, comprehensive pastoral care and extensive enrichment.

The Role of the Language Assistant is to:

  • Deliver speaking tutorials to small groups (approximately 3 or 4) of A-level students
  • Encourage the students to speak in the target language
  • Reinforce topic vocabulary and grammatical structures through appropriate oral activities
  • Explore and develop an awareness of the culture, society, people and way of life in Spanish speaking countries
  • Take into account the needs of the individual and be prepared to operate on differentiated levels
  • Prepare thoroughly for your classes and implement differentiated speaking activities
  • Select and use appropriate and relevant materials in class
  • Assist staff in the research and development of teaching materials
  • Conduct mock speaking exams and assess student performance
