Winstanley College is seeking to appoint a Senior Tutor to join our dedicated Student Support team in this key internal middle management role. Reporting to the Assistant Principal (Support for Students), the successful candidate will lead a team of Guidance staff, including Assistant Senior Tutors, Guidance Coordinators, Personal Tutors and Study Supervisors, to deliver high-quality pastoral provision that supports student achievement, well-being and progression. The role includes:
- Acting as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead
- Leading on attendance, behaviour and student support interventions
- Monitoring progress against key performance indicators
- Contributing to cross-college initiatives
You will work closely with staff, parents/carers and external agencies, while also supporting quality assurance, staff development and operational planning within the team. The post may include a teaching commitment of up to one block. This is a full-time, term-time role (plus A-level Results Day and enrolment), on Management Range D1–D3, with access to the Teachers’ Pension Scheme. Winstanley College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.
