The Company
Our client is a modern and well recognised manufacturing business with a strong reputation for quality, innovation, and continuous improvement. Due to continued growth, they are now looking to appoint a Night Engineer to support the reliability and performance of the production operation.
The Role
This Night Engineer role will focus on carrying out planned preventative maintenance and reactive engineering support during non-production hours, helping to ensure the smooth running of production and packaging equipment across the site. This is a hands-on role involving fault finding, continuous improvement activities, equipment installation, and supporting site reliability.
As a Night Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance across site equipment
- Diagnosing and resolving mechanical and electrical faults
- Supporting automation systems to minimise downtime
- Assisting with equipment installations and commissioning
- Maintaining maintenance records and engineering documentation
- Supporting continuous improvement activities across the site
- Working closely with production teams to ensure smooth handovers
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with company procedures
- Maintaining a clean and organised working environment
The Person
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- ONC, C&G, BTEC, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- Previous experience within a maintenance engineering role in FMCG or manufacturing
- Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills
- BOAS qualification
- Experience working within a fast-paced production environment
- Good communication and organisational skills
- A proactive approach to maintenance and problem solving
- Comfort working permanent night shifts
The following would also be advantageous:
- Welding or fabrication experience
- FLT experience
- Project management experience
- Previous experience within food, beverage, or high-speed manufacturing
