A well-established logistics business in Hull is looking to appoint a Logistics Coordinator to join its busy operations team. This position would suit someone who enjoys working in a structured, deadline-led environment and is confident managing moving parts across transport, documentation and operational support. The opportunity
This role centres around keeping freight movements on track from start to finish, making sure everything is lined up correctly for smooth onward movement. You will be involved in organising load activity, maintaining accurate system records, coordinating with internal departments and helping avoid disruption, delay or unnecessary spend. Attention to detail is key, particularly where timings, system updates and operational paperwork are concerned.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily freight activity to ensure movements are arranged in line with customer and operational requirements
- Keep internal systems updated with accurate movement information and shipment status details
- Make sure vehicle and load activity is prepared in advance to avoid issues at site access points
- Check all operational paperwork is in place and chase anything outstanding before movement takes place
- Work closely with other teams to keep cargo flowing efficiently through the network
- Monitor shipment progress and help resolve issues that could affect service or timing
- Arrange additional operational support such as short-term holding space where required
- Maintain clear and accurate records across shipment references and release information
- Support overall service performance by helping the team meet operational expectations and deadlines
About you
- Previous experience within logistics, freight, shipping, transport coordination or a similar operational environment
- Strong organisational skills and a high level of attention to detail
- Ability to manage live operational information accurately and efficiently
- Comfortable using internal systems and updating records in real time
- Able to work well in a fast-paced environment and respond to changing demands
- Good communication skills with a practical, team-focused approach
- Exposure to import/export activity, freight forwarding, port-related operations or logistics administration would be an advantage
