Ready to build something bigger? We are recruiting for an established international transport business looking to appoint a commercially ambitious Sales Manager to help drive its next stage of European growth. This is a genuine business development and market-growth role. You will be given the platform, operational backing and autonomy to open new doors, develop major customer relationships and create profitable transport solutions across the UK and Europe.
The opportunity will suit someone who already understands international transport, liquid bulk, chemical logistics, tanker operations or intermodal transport and wants a role where they can have real commercial influence rather than simply manage an inherited account base.
Your Commercial Opportunity
- Identify and win profitable new customers across the UK and Europe
- Build a high-value pipeline of commercial opportunities
- Develop relationships with major manufacturers, distributors and industrial customers
- Grow strategic accounts and identify further revenue opportunities within existing customers
- Open new sectors, territories and commercial markets
- Lead significant tenders, proposals and commercial negotiations
- Negotiate pricing, contracts and long-term customer agreements
- Develop bespoke transport solutions around complex customer requirements
- Work across road, intermodal and wider multimodal networks
- Identify opportunities for modal shift and more efficient, sustainable transport solutions
- Develop strategic relationships with European carriers, terminals and transport partners
- Work closely with Operations, Fleet, Finance and Customer Service to turn commercial opportunities into deliverable solutions
- Monitor margins, transport costs, competitor activity and wider market trends
- Provide accurate pipeline, forecast and commercial performance reporting to senior management
- Represent the business at customer meetings and industry events across Europe
Who Are We Looking For?

- An entrepreneurial approach to finding and creating new opportunities
- The flexibility to travel across Europe as required
- Experience with ADR, dangerous goods, ISO tanks, tank containers, rail or terminal networks would be highly advantageous.
Why This Role Stands Out
This is not a role where you will simply be handed a list of customers and asked to maintain them. You will join an established transport operation with ambitions to grow, giving you the opportunity to have genuine influence over where the business goes next.
You will have scope to:
- Build new European markets
- Win high-value strategic customers

- Create new transport solutions
