This is a genuine development opportunity. The client is open to either an experienced roofing, cladding or façade installer looking to move into quality management, or a recent construction graduate interested in building a specialist career in quality assurance. You don't necessarily need to have been a QA Manager before. Practical understanding, attention to detail and the confidence to maintain quality standards across live projects will be more important than your current job title. The Role Based from the Cumbernauld office, you'll split your time between office-based quality coordination and inspections across roofing, cladding, rainscreen and remediation projects. You'll check that works are being completed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications and manufacturers' requirements. You'll also maintain the photographic and written evidence needed to demonstrate that installations have been completed correctly. This is not a purely administrative position. You'll need to be comfortable on active construction sites, speaking with experienced installers and identifying issues before work is covered up or reaches final inspection. What You'll Be Doing Carrying out quality inspections across roofing, cladding and façade projects Checking installations against drawings, specifications and approved details Inspecting work at key stages before areas are closed up Reviewing fixings, brackets, rails, insulation, membranes and cladding systems Checking flashings, penetrations, interfaces and weathering details Producing clear photographic and written inspection records Completing quality checklists and supporting Inspection and Test Plans Identifying defects and non-conforming work Raising and tracking corrective actions Reinspecting remedial work before closing quality issues Checking materials delivered to site against project requirements Supporting product identification and traceability Working with fitters, supervisors and project teams to improve standards Supporting snagging, completion inspections and project handover Maintaining organised project quality files Helping improve QA procedures, checklists and reporting processes Supporting quality briefings and lessons-learned reviews What They're Looking For My client will consider candidates through one of three routes: Experienced Installer or Supervisor You may currently work as a: Roofing or cladding installer Rainscreen fitter Façade installer Lead Fitter Working Foreperson Cladding Supervisor Site Supervisor You'll need strong practical knowledge, the ability to interpret drawings and a reputation for caring about workmanship and detail. Training can be provided around formal inspections, reporting and quality documentation. Recent Construction Graduate Relevant degree backgrounds could include: Construction Management Building Surveying Architectural Technology Civil or Structural Engineering Construction Engineering Quality Management You'll need strong written skills, confidence working on active construction sites and a genuine interest in roofing, cladding and façade systems. Existing Quality Professional You may already work as a: Quality Inspector QA Coordinator Assistant Quality Manager Site Quality Engineer Clerk of Works Construction Quality Advisor Experience within façades, roofing, cladding or specialist subcontracting would be particularly useful.
