The Role

We're looking for an experienced and hands-on PM Shift Manager to lead operations in a leading manufacturer within their field. This is a key leadership role responsible for managing daily production activity, ensuring performance targets are met, and driving continuous improvement across the site. You'll oversee both production and warehouse operations, leading your team to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality processing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise shift operations across the production and warehouse areas
  • Manage daily production activities to ensure targets, KPIs and quality standards are achieved
  • Plan workloads and forecast volumes to optimise productivity and capacity
  • Oversee stock control, ensuring accuracy, traceability and timely reporting
  • Manage inventory movement using warehouse and ERP systems
  • Monitor and drive performance across operational, quality, stock and H&S KPIs
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and improve efficiency
  • Conduct root cause analysis and drive corrective actions
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety and environmental regulations, including WEEE standards
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organised working environment

People Management

  • Lead, motivate and develop a high-performing team
  • Support recruitment, training, and succession planning
  • Conduct performance reviews, feedback sessions and appraisals
  • Drive employee engagement and maintain a positive team culture
  • Manage performance, including any disciplinary processes where required

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience as a Shift Manager / Operations Supervisor within manufacturing, recycling or similar environments
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Experience working with ERP systems, stock control and operational data
  • Proven ability to manage KPIs and improve operational performance
  • Knowledge of health & safety and compliance within an industrial setting
  • A proactive, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving skills
  • Experience in continuous improvement / process optimisation

Additional Information

  • Occasional weekend cover may be required
  • Flexibility to support other sites when needed
  • Hands-on leadership approach is essential
