Are you looking for a hands-on role where no two days are the same? We are recruiting for a Multi Skilled Operative to join a specialist manufacturing business in Hull. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with manufacturing, production, warehouse or industrial experience who enjoys practical work and wants to develop new skills in a unique production environment. No previous experience with the company's machinery is required as full training will be provided.

The Role

As a Multi Skilled Operative, you'll play a key role in supporting production across the site. This is a varied and physically active position where you'll receive training across multiple departments and processes.

Responsibilities include:

  • Operating production plant and process equipment
  • Monitoring production performance and recording operational data
  • Preparing and completing production batches
  • Carrying out quality and process checks
  • Palletising and moving finished products and raw materials
  • Supporting housekeeping and continuous improvement activities
  • Following all health, safety, environmental and quality procedures
  • Working flexibly across different production areas as required

You may also have the opportunity to train and operate equipment such as:

  • Counterbalance Forklift Trucks
  • Overhead Cranes
  • Loading Shovels
  • Excavators
  • Pallet Trucks

Shift Pattern

This position operates on a rotating 3-week shift cycle consisting of both days and nights.

Week 1: 2 Day Shifts, 2 Night Shifts
Week 2: 3 Day Shifts
Week 3: 3 Night Shifts
Day Shift: 6:30am - 6:30pm
Night Shift: 6:30pm - 6:30am
Average of 40 hours per week. This pattern repeats every three weeks.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience within a manufacturing, production, warehouse or industrial environment
  • Comfortable working in a physically demanding role
  • Strong awareness of health and safety
  • Reliable and adaptable approach to work
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to learn new processes and operate a variety of equipment

Desirable

  • Counterbalance Forklift Licence
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent)
  • NVQ in Performing Manufacturing Operations
