Role Overview
As a Multi Skilled Engineer, you’ll be responsible for ensuring reliable operation and maintenance of all manufacturing equipment and systems. You’ll play a key part in delivering engineering excellence and supporting continuous improvement across production lines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver both reactive and planned maintenance (PPM) tasks to meet operational demands.
- Support production teams by taking on ad hoc operational tasks when required.
- Communicate effectively with shift managers and engineering leadership using relevant reporting systems.
- Work independently and collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Maintain safety standards using Dynamic Risk Assessment principles at all times.
- Diagnose and repair plant and equipment efficiently and professionally.
- Contribute to the development and execution of PPM schedules.
- Operate plant equipment, including Forklift Trucks and Elevated Work Platforms.
- Assist external contractors and specialist engineers when required.
- Record maintenance activities accurately within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Plan and prioritize workload to minimize downtime and maximize output.
- Manufacture or modify parts using tools such as lathes, milling machines, and welding equipment.
- Monitor and manage spare parts usage and stock control.
About You:
- Multi-skilled engineer with a minimum qualification of NVQ Level 4, HNC, or equivalent.
- Strong electrical knowledge, including PLC and automation systems.
- Experience in FMCG or high-volume manufacturing environments.
- Solid understanding of OEE, 5S, Lean, TPM, and PPM methodologies.
- Proven ability to work proactively and autonomously.
- Positive attitude toward continuous improvement and high operational standards.
- Flexible and adaptable across engineering and production areas.
- Commitment to maintaining health, safety, and compliance standards.
