The Opportunity
Winsearch is recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business seeking a motivated and dependable Workshop Operative to join their team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who takes pride in maintaining high standards, enjoys working in a hands-on environment, and is looking to build a long-term career within a busy workshop operation. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the workshop remains organised, efficient, and safe while supporting continuous improvement activities across the business.
Key Responsibilities
As a Workshop Operative, you will be responsible for:
Maintaining clean, organised, and safe working areas throughout the workshop.
Supporting workshop efficiency through effective housekeeping and workplace organisation.
Cleaning and maintaining machinery, tools, and equipment to a high standard.
Assisting with the movement and storage of materials and equipment.
Supporting continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
Identifying opportunities to reduce waste and improve workplace efficiency.
Operating forklift trucks where appropriately licensed and authorised.
Using overhead cranes safely and in line with company procedures where qualified.
Assisting production and engineering teams with general workshop duties.
Ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and environmental policies.
Contributing positively to team objectives and supporting colleagues when required.
