We're recruiting for an experienced Vehicle Technician/Mechanic to join a growing automotive operation based in the Edinburgh area. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys diagnostics, problem-solving and delivering high-quality repairs. You'll be working within a professional environment where attention to detail, technical knowledge and quality workmanship are valued.
The Role
- Carry out vehicle servicing, maintenance and repairs
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical and electronic faults
- Use diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve issues
- Repair and replace defective vehicle components
- Conduct inspections and safety checks
- Complete work to a high standard and within agreed timescales
- Maintain accurate documentation and job records
- Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed
What We're Looking For
- A minimum of 3 years' experience as a Vehicle Technician or Mechanic
- Experience gained within a dealership, repair garage, vehicle manufacturer or fleet environment
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Good knowledge of vehicle electrical and mechanical systems
- Experience using diagnostic equipment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A positive attitude and commitment to quality workmanship
Desirable
- NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent qualification
- MOT Tester licence
- Hybrid or EV experience
- High Voltage certification
- Manufacturer training or accreditation
