The Role
We are recruiting on behalf of a well‑established precision engineering and manufacturing business looking to appoint a Junior Manufacturing Engineer to support production and engineering operations across the business. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate or apprentice‑trained engineer looking to develop their career within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. The role will involve supporting manufacturing processes, engineering documentation and production activities while working closely with both engineering and shopfloor teams. The successful candidate will gain exposure to a wide range of manufacturing engineering activities and will be supported in developing their technical and operational knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
- Support general engineering and administrative functions across manufacturing operations
- Print route cards and create production packs including drawings and supporting documentation
- Generate and maintain basic manufacturing route cards
- Access and review engineering specifications and technical documentation
- Create manufacturing documents, work instructions and process information
- Balloon engineering drawings to support first article inspection processes
- Maintain customer order books and provide status updates where required
- Work closely with production teams supporting job tracking and problem‑solving activities
- Assist with continuous improvement and waste reduction initiatives
- Ensure all work is carried out in line with company quality and 5S standards
Requirements
- Apprentice‑trained or graduate‑level engineer
- Minimum 12 months' experience within a manufacturing environment
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Understanding of BOMs and manufacturing processes from raw material to finished part
- Basic understanding of supply chain and production processes
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Positive, energetic and proactive attitude
- Good problem‑solving ability and attention to detail
- Commitment to safe working and continuous improvement
