  • Whitby, North Yorkshire
  • £23.83 per hour + Shift Allowance + Call-Out Payments
  • Rotating Days & Afternoons (Monday-Friday)

A leading manufacturing business is looking to recruit an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join its established engineering team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a multi-skilled engineer with strong electrical and mechanical skills to work in a fast-paced production environment where reliability, efficiency and continuous improvement are key.

The Opportunity

As a Maintenance Engineer, you'll play a key role in keeping production running efficiently by carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance across a range of manufacturing equipment.

You'll be involved in fault-finding, repairs, preventative maintenance and project work, ensuring machinery performs at its best while maintaining the highest safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planned preventative and reactive maintenance on production machinery.
  • Electrical and mechanical fault-finding and repairs.
  • Maintenance of extrusion equipment and associated machinery.
  • Maintaining site services including chillers, compressors and ancillary equipment.
  • Working with PLC-controlled equipment and assisting with fault diagnosis.
  • Updating maintenance records and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participating in the engineering on-call rota.
  • Ensuring all work is completed in line with Health & Safety procedures and safe working practices.

What We're Looking For

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in an Engineering discipline.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical maintenance experience.
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification (or equivalent).
  • Experience working within a manufacturing or production environment.
  • PLC knowledge and fault-finding experience.
  • Good understanding of preventative maintenance systems.
  • Extrusion experience would be highly advantageous.
  • Self-motivated team player with a proactive approach to problem solving.

Package

  • ? £23.83 per hour plus shift allowance
  • ? Monday to Friday rotating shifts (06:00-14:00 / 14:00-22:00)
  • ? One weekend in four on-call rota with standby and call-out payments
  • ? Contributory pension scheme
  • ? Health insurance
  • ? 20 days holiday + bank holidays, rising to 25 days + bank holidays after year one
