I am currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Transport Planner to join a busy logistics and operational planning environment. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established international business with a strong reputation for service, operational excellence and team culture. This opportunity would suit somebody with previous experience within transport planning, logistics coordination, traffic operations, haulage or distribution planning, who is comfortable managing day-to-day operational activity within a fast-paced environment.

The Role Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing daily transport and operational planning activity
  • Coordinating with customers, suppliers, drivers and external partners
  • Monitoring schedules, bookings and operational requirements
  • Responding to operational issues and service queries
  • Updating planning systems and operational records accurately
  • Reviewing upcoming work to identify potential issues or delays
  • Supporting operational efficiency and service performance
  • Escalating operational concerns where required
  • Working closely with management and wider operational teams
  • Supporting additional operational functions when required

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Previous experience within transport, logistics, haulage or distribution
  • Experience within a transport planning or traffic office environment
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • The ability to work calmly under pressure
  • A proactive and hands-on approach
  • Good IT and administration skills
  • A strong operational mindset and team-focused attitude

Working Hours

Monday to Friday on a rotating operational shift pattern. Shared bank holiday cover may be required by agreement.
