Winsearch are currently working with a well-established precision engineering business in the Sheffield area who are looking to strengthen their machining team with the addition of an experienced Manual Turner. THE ROLE

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established precision engineering business supporting the oil & gas sector, who are looking to strengthen their machine shop team with an experienced CNC Machine Operator. This role will involve machining high-specification components from engineering drawings, working to tight tolerances and ensuring all work is completed to the highest quality standards and within estimated production times. The successful candidate will have experience operating CNC lathes within oil & gas manufacturing environments and will be confident machining exotic materials including Inconel 718.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Days and nights rotating weekly
  • Operate CNC lathes to manufacture precision engineered components
  • Work from engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Machine high-grade materials including Inconel 718
  • Produce components to the required quality standards within estimated production times
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with company quality procedures
  • Maintain safe, clean and organised working areas
  • Select and monitor tooling, feeds and speeds to achieve efficient cycle times
  • Carry out in-process inspection and quality checks
  • Support problem solving and continuous improvement activities within the machine shop

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Minimum 2 years' machining experience within the oil & gas industry
  • Experience operating CNC lathes within a precision engineering environment
  • Good understanding of tooling applications, machine capability, feeds and speeds
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Strong attention to detail and quality standards
  • Good communication skills and team-working ability
  • Flexible and adaptable approach within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
