We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established precision engineering business in Irvine who are looking to strengthen their machine shop team with an experienced CNC Machinist. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled machinist with strong Mazatrol programming and setting experience to join a busy manufacturing environment producing complex, high-value components for demanding engineering sectors.
The role will involve machining medium to heavy components to tight tolerances, working from engineering drawings and ensuring all work is completed to the highest quality standards. This role operates on a rotating days and nights shift pattern, alternating every 2 weeks, with a 30% shift uplift paid whilst working nights.
SHIFT PATTERN- Rotating days and nights every 2 weeks
- 30% shift allowance on night shifts
- Overtime available
- Program, set and operate CNC machining centres using Mazatrol controls
- Manufacture precision components from detailed engineering drawings
- Machine high-grade materials including Inconel 718
- Produce components to the required quality standards and within estimated production times
- Select appropriate tooling, feeds and speeds to maximise machining efficiency
- Carry out in-process inspection and quality checks
- Maintain a safe, clean and organised working environment
- Work in line with company quality and health & safety procedures
- Support continuous improvement and problem-solving activities within the machine shop
- Minimum 3 years' post-apprenticeship CNC machining experience
- Strong experience programming and setting Mazatrol milling machining centres
- Experience machining medium to heavy components
- Background operating CNC Horizontal Borers, Vertical Borers, Machining Centres or Mill Turns
- Good understanding of tooling applications, cutting parameters and machining techniques
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
