We are recruiting on behalf of a long-established heavy engineering business based in Atherton who are looking to strengthen their fabrication team with an experienced Plater / Fabricator. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy engineering environment producing heavy fabricated components and structures for industrial applications. The role will involve plating, fabrication and oxyacetylene profiling work, producing components to engineering drawings and maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Carry out plating and fabrication activities on heavy engineering components
- Perform oxyacetylene profiling and burning operations accurately and safely
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and fabrication specifications
- Mark out, cut, shape and assemble heavy steel components
- Work with a range of heavy plate materials and fabrication equipment
- Carry out fitting and assembly work where required
- Ensure all work is completed to required quality standards
- Maintain safe working practices and good housekeeping standards
- Support production targets within a busy workshop environment

- Previous experience working as a Plater / Fabricator within heavy engineering
- Strong oxyacetylene profiling and burning experience essential
