We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Estimator with experience in the sheet metal industry to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CAD, preferably using SolidWorks, and experience in creating and working with detailed drawings. This role requires expertise in cost calculations, purchasing, and sourcing, ensuring accurate and competitive pricing for our clients. The successful candidate must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment while advising customers on design and optimisation.
Main Responsibilities
- Create, review, and modify CAD drawings, preferably using SolidWorks, to ensure accuracy and manufacturability.
- Prepare detailed cost calculations, taking into account materials, labour, and overheads to generate competitive pricing.
- Source and purchase materials efficiently, ensuring cost-effectiveness and timely availability.
- Collaborate with the production team to ensure accurate job costing and feasibility.
- Provide expert advice to customers on design improvements and manufacturing optimisation.
- Interpret technical drawings and specifications to assess project requirements.
- Work closely with suppliers and negotiate the best pricing for materials and components.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Ensure accurate and timely estimates to support business growth and client satisfaction.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, materials, and manufacturing techniques.
- Additional experience in programming machinery in Radan or similar software is highly desirable.

- Proven experience as an Estimator within the sheet metal industry or wider metal manufacturing sector.
- Strong proficiency in CAD software, particularly SolidWorks.
- Experience in working with technical drawings and creating working designs.
- A solid understanding of sheet metal manufacturing processes.
- Excellent numerical skills and a keen eye for detail.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with the capability to optimise designs for manufacturing.

- Proficiency in using Radan or similar CNC programming software is advantageous.
