Our client is a well-established business specialising in the design, manufacture, and installation of aluminium systems, delivering high-quality solutions across the commercial and residential construction markets. Due to continued growth, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Sales Manager to join their team in Newcastle. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven individual with a strong background in aluminium systems and specification sales, particularly with experience selling into architects, specifiers, consultants, and contractors.
The Role
As Sales Manager, you will be responsible for driving new business and developing existing client relationships across the region. You will work closely with architects, design teams, developers, and main contractors to promote the company's aluminium systems and secure project specifications from early design stage through to order.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a strategic business development plan
- Secure meetings with architects, specifiers, façade consultants, and contractors
- Promote the company's aluminium systems portfolio
- Drive product specifications at design stage
- Build strong relationships with key decision-makers within the construction market
- Identify and convert new business opportunities
- Manage existing accounts and key client relationships
- Liaise with internal technical, design, and estimating teams
- Monitor market activity and competitor movements
- Support projects through from specification to installation
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience within a Sales Manager / Business Development Manager role
- Strong background in aluminium systems, curtain walling, windows, doors, or façade products
- Experience selling into architects, specifiers, consultants, and contractors
- Strong understanding of the specification sales process
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Commercially driven with a track record of winning new business
- Strong knowledge of the external envelope / façade market is highly desirable
