If working with real-world radar data, analysing system performance and solving complex engineering problems is your thing… keep reading. We’re working with a highly respected defence engineering business supporting the continued development of an in-service radar platform. They’re looking to bring in an experienced Principal Systems Engineer to support trial planning, analysis and system performance improvements. This is a role where you’ll be working with live data, real systems and genuinely impactful technology — not just theory.
What you’ll be doing:
- Analysing large datasets from rig-based and flight trials to assess radar system performance
- Applying signal processing, image analysis and classification techniques to extract meaningful insights
- Investigating system anomalies and raising System Problem Reports (SPR) for deeper technical review
- Supporting verification and validation (V&V) activities across the system lifecycle
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to support ongoing system development and enhancement
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of a live, in-service defence system
What we’re looking for:
- Strong experience working within systems engineering in a defence or safety-critical environment
- Proven experience analysing large datasets, ideally using MATLAB
- Solid understanding of the V-model lifecycle, particularly integration, testing and validation stages
- Experience supporting trials, testing or system performance analysis
- Exposure to radar or complex sensor systems would be advantageous
Why this role?
You’ll be working on a live defence system where your work directly impacts performance, reliability and capability. It’s a technically challenging role with real-world application, offering the opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers on complex, cutting-edge systems.
