A growing specialist contractor is seeking a talented Facade Designer to join its team based in Kent. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically skilled designer with experience in cladding, glazing, and building envelope systems to contribute to a range of façade, roofing, remediation, and new-build projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed façade design solutions for cladding, glazing, and full building envelope systems.
- Produce and coordinate shop drawings, including elevations, sections, junction details, and setting-out information.
- Review architectural and structural drawings to identify technical requirements, constraints, and interface details.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, installers, consultants, and subcontractors to resolve coordination challenges.
- Support design approvals, technical submittals, RFIs, and variation/change processes throughout project delivery.
- Ensure all designs comply with UK building regulations, fire safety requirements, project specifications, and internal quality standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience in façade design, ideally within cladding, building envelope, remediation, or new-build environments.
- Strong ability to produce accurate and detailed technical drawings and design information.
- Working knowledge of cladding systems, glazing, SFS (steel framing systems), fixings, and interface detailing.
- Proficiency in CAD/BIM software, such as AutoCAD and/or Revit.
- Good understanding of UK building regulations, façade performance, and fire remediation standards.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving mindset, and effective communication skills.
