You will be reporting to the Manager, Field Engineering.
Responsibilities
- Build successful relationships with clients throughout assigned territory to provide technical and business value in collaboration with account executive and senior solutions architect.
- Generate excitement from clients through hands‑on evaluation and Spark programming, integrating with cloud ecosystem and third‑party applications.
- Contribute to building Databricks technical community through workshops, seminars, and meet‑ups.
- Become a big data analytics advisor on architecture and design aspects.
- Support customers by authoring reference architectures, how‑to guides, and demo applications.
- Develop technically and pre‑sales skills with goal of becoming independently operating solutions architect.
Qualifications
- Experience in technical customer‑facing roles with background in data science, generative AI, machine learning, data warehousing or data engineering.
- Background in one or more vertical sectors: entertainment, media, telco, hospitality, financial services & insurance, retail/CPG.
- Pre‑sales or post‑sales experience working with external clients.
- Familiarity with creating client narratives, answering questions, aligning agenda with interests, achieving tangible outcomes.
- Ability to independently deliver technical propositions, identify pain points, and explain business value to build trusted advisor skillset.
- Proficient in a core programming language such as Python, Java, or Scala.
- Knowledgeable in core big data analytics domain with exposure to advanced proofs‑of‑concept and major public cloud platform (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Experience diving deeper into solution architecture and design.
Travel Requirements
Travel to customer sites in the UK approximately 20–30% of the time.
Nice to Have
Databricks certification.
