Job Overview
WHV, Inc., an Equal Opportunity Employer, is seeking an experienced Journeyman-level Commercial HVAC Service Technician to join our team. This position is ideal for professionals with strong commercial HVAC knowledge, excellent technical skills, and a commitment to high-quality service and customer relationships.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, service, repair, and maintain a wide variety of commercial HVAC systems.
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on HVAC and control systems.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and low-voltage control issues.
- Interpret and work from blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Communicate clearly with customers regarding service performed and recommended solutions.
- Complete accurate and timely service documentation.
- Install and service building automation systems.
- Follow all safety regulations, building codes, and company procedures.
- Participate in on-call rotation as needed.
Qualifications
- Journeyman HVAC license (Iowa or ability to obtain reciprocity).
- Strong blueprint-reading skills and experience with a wide variety of commercial HVAC and control systems.
- Background in electrical systems and wiring diagrams required.
- Positive attitude, strong mechanical aptitude, and a customer-focused mindset.
- EPA, Boiler, and Low Voltage Wiring licenses are beneficial but not required.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs. and work in various indoor/outdoor environments.
- Background and/or experience in testing, adjusting and balancing a plus, but not required.
Wages commensurate with experience. Company vehicle (take home every night), phone/tablet are provided.
