About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Welder / Fabricator to join a team in Truro. This role involves working on a variety of fabrication and welding projects, ensuring high-quality workmanship while adhering to safety standards and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform MIG, TIG, and/or MMA welding to a high standard
- Read and interpret technical drawings and fabrication plans
- Cut, shape, and assemble metal components
- Operate fabrication machinery such as press brakes, guillotines, and grinders
- Inspect finished work to ensure it meets quality standards
- Carry out repairs and modifications to existing structures or components
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
- Work independently or as part of a team to meet project deadlines
Requirements
- Proven experience as a welder/fabricator
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
- Proficiency in MIG/TIG welding (certifications desirable)
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Good understanding of health & safety practices
- Ability to work to deadlines and manage workload effectively
- Full UK driving licence (preferred but not essential)
Desirable Skills
- Experience with stainless steel and aluminium
- Previous work in structural or architectural metalwork
- Relevant NVQ or City & Guilds qualification in Welding/Fabrication
