My client in St Ives are seeking an Executive Head Chef to manage their busy kitchen team. As Executive Head Chef, everyone in your brigade, from the kitchen porter to the sous chef, looks to you for inspiration – and you’ll have to hold your own with the front of house restaurant staff, too. With a high number of weddings and functions as well as Hotel Restaurant, you must have experience with high volume as well as strong management skills. This role includes both office and hands-on kitchen work.
Key responsibilities:
- Creating an overall vision and plan for the Hotel & restaurant - producing menus and new dishes to fit the menu and keeping customers returning to try new dishes
- Liaising with purchasing companies for food orders
- Maintaining or raising the profit margins on food
- Managing, training and recruiting a brigade of chefs
- Sourcing unique ingredients for the menus, and keeping stock levels fully up-to-date
- Keeping the kitchen fully equipped with all the tools and inventory
- Ensuring that the quality of food is consistently high and that hygiene standards are exceeded and EHO & H&S laws adhered to at all times
This is a full-time permanent position offering £45,000 per annum, plus tips, holidays, pension and company benefits. Free on-site parking available. PLEASE NOTE - NO LIVE IN - only apply if you are able to commute daily to St Ives via own transport.
