We are seeking a skilled Tool Maker for our client based in Mansfield:
- Competence in cylindrical grinding, surface grinding and benchwork required
Join our clients experienced team working on a variety of work producing high-quality precision tooling used in various manufacturing processes, including plastics injection moulding, aerospace, food & extrusion.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong aptitude and hands-on experience in tool making to meet precise specifications, and feel a sense of pride when you see a project you have been involved with come to fruition.
The Tool Maker will work closely with all employees to create, modify, and maintain low volume tooling.
Duties
- Operate various machinery including mills, grinders, and lathes to produce tooling components
- Troubleshoot issues related to tooling and production processes
- Ability to read & interpret engineering drawings
- Inspect finished parts for conformance to specifications
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations
- Maintain a clean & tidy working environment
Skills
- Proficient in the use of hand tools and machinery relevant to tool making
- Strong understanding of machining processes and principles
- Experience in plastics injection moulding processes is advantageous
- Competence in cylindrical grinding, surface grinding and benchwork required
- Experience/Knowledge of milling, turning and other machining techniques
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in all aspects of work
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team environment
- Ability to use a variety of measuring equipment
