A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quality Manager within an SME specialising in quality and performance in Birmingham. We’re seeking an experienced and proactive Quality Manager to lead a small team and drive continuous improvement across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a small team, setting goals and KPIs.
- Manage all company quality procedures and compliance in line with ISO9001, AS9100, and NADCAP standards.
- Lead all internal and external audits, non-conformance resolution, and risk management activities.
- Manage all RCCA, Root Cause Corrective Actions.
- Perform self-assessments for NADCAP and preparation for external audits.
- Collaborate with customers and suppliers to uphold robust quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with legal, safety, and customer-specific requirements.
- Manage and develop the Quality team while promoting a continuous improvement culture.
- Take ownership of quality metrics, training, product release, and system documentation.
- Support production planning, calibration control, contract reviews, and performance reporting.
About You:
- You must have quality assurance credentials and be compliant in quality within aerospace or Defence ideally.
- Strong working knowledge of and accreditations ISO 9001, AS9100, EN14001 JOSCAR and NADCAP Standard.
- Experience with aerospace or MOD sector standards and Quality processes.
- Detail-driven with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Confident in managing audits, developing procedures, and liaising with cross-functional teams.
- Background in Quality management and testing, or metallurgical analysis.
- Forward-thinking, solutions-focused, and motivated by measurable outcomes.
- Experience in maintaining NADCAP approvals.
- Previous exposure to aerospace customer quality requirements.
Hours: This role is an onsite position working 38 hours per week 8am – 4.45pm and early finish on Fridays.
Salary: Paying £50,000 per annum depending on experience + benefits.
