We are currently recruiting for an experienced Fire Door Inspector to join a growing compliance team, supporting fire safety across residential and/or commercial properties. This role is critical in ensuring fire doors meet current legislation, standards, and best practice, with a strong focus on BM TRADA guidance and certification requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out detailed fire door inspections in line with BM TRADA, BS 8214, and relevant fire safety standards
- Accurately assess fire doors, frames, ironmongery, seals, glazing, and signage
- Record inspection findings using digital or paper-based reporting systems
- Identify non-compliance issues and provide clear remedial recommendations
- Liaise with clients, site teams, and contractors to explain inspection outcomes
- Ensure all work complies with current Fire Safety Regulations and industry best practice
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in fire door legislation and BM TRADA guidance
- Proven experience as a Fire Door Inspector
- Strong working knowledge of BM TRADA standards and inspection methodology
- Understanding of BS 8214 and passive fire protection principles
- Ability to produce clear, accurate inspection reports
- Full UK driving licence (if role involves site travel)
- Good communication skills and attention to detail
- BM TRADA Fire Door Inspection certification
- Experience working within social housing, local authority, healthcare, or commercial buildings
- Familiarity with digital compliance systems or asset management software
