Are you an SEN Teaching Assistant looking for work in the Kings Norton area?

Winner Education is recruiting an experienced

SEN Teaching Assistant on behalf of a primary school client in the Kings Norton area. This is a full-time, short-term position starting in

September .

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will provide dedicated support to pupils with Special Educational Needs, working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to help pupils access learning and reach their full potential.

The role will involve supporting children on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, creating a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment.

Starting in September and working within a primary school setting, the role offers local placement and experience in SEN support.

Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated support to pupils with Special Educational Needs, working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to help pupils access learning.
  • Support children on a 1:1 basis and in small groups to enable access to learning and progression.
  • Create and maintain a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment.
  • Assist with adapting learning resources and strategies to meet individual needs.
  • Collaborate with school staff to monitor pupil progress and report concerns.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Have previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant in a primary school.
  • Have experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs, including on a 1:1 basis.
  • Have a good understanding of a range of SEN needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH and speech and language difficulties.
  • Be confident adapting learning resources and strategies to meet individual needs.
  • Be patient, nurturing and resilient, with a calm and positive approach.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Hold a minimum Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or have substantial experience as an unqualified SEN Teaching Assistant or Child Support Worker.
