We are currently recruiting for an experienced HVAC Engineer to join a facilities management team working within a large distribution centre in Gateshead. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled HVAC professional to join a stable, site-based role with a leading facilities management provider. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across a range of HVAC systems and associated building services, ensuring the site remains operational, safe, and compliant.

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on HVAC systems
  • Diagnose faults and complete repairs across heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment
  • Service, inspect, and maintain HVAC plant and associated mechanical systems
  • Complete maintenance records, job sheets, and reports accurately
  • Work closely with the wider engineering team and site management to ensure service levels are maintained

Previous experience working as an HVAC Engineer within a commercial, industrial, or FM environment is required. Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, including air conditioning, ventilation, and mechanical plant is essential. Experience delivering both planned and reactive maintenance is necessary, along with a good understanding of building services and maintenance environments.

  • NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent in HVAC, Refrigeration, Mechanical Engineering, or Building Services
  • F-Gas qualification essential
  • Relevant HVAC/refrigeration qualifications desirable

Working hours are Monday – Friday, 06:00 – 14:30. This is a permanent, site-based position offering a long-term career opportunity with a leading facilities management provider. Training and development opportunities are available.
