Winner Recruitment are currently seeking a skilled and safety-driven Electrician on behalf of a well-established building maintenance company. This role involves delivering high-quality electrical installations, servicing, and maintenance across Planned Works, Voids, and Responsive Maintenance (RM) programmes. Working across domestic and occupied properties, you will ensure all electrical systems meet current IET Wiring Regulations and client specifications. You'll play a key role in delivering first-time fixes, while maintaining a strong focus on customer care, compliance, and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out electrical repairs, maintenance, and installations within domestic and commercial properties
  • Deliver works across voids and planned programmes, including rewires, consumer unit replacements, smoke alarms, ventilation fans, shower circuits, and general remedials
  • Attend responsive maintenance call-outs, diagnosing faults and ensuring safe isolation and first-time resolution
  • Conduct inspection and testing, completing EICRs and associated remedial works
  • Ensure all works comply with BS7671 (current IET Wiring Regulations)
  • Maintain accurate records via PDA/mobile device, including certification, materials, and time tracking
  • Communicate effectively with residents, clients, and colleagues to ensure excellent service delivery
  • Liaise with Electrical Supervisors regarding technical issues, materials, and job progress
  • Carry out on-site risk assessments and follow safe systems of work
  • Comply with all Health & Safety, environmental, and company policies
  • Support and mentor apprentices or junior electricians where required
  • Participate in the out-of-hours call-out rota on a rotational basis

About You

  • Proven experience as a qualified Electrician within domestic repairs, maintenance, or social housing
  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent (City & Guilds)
  • 18th Edition (BS7671) certification
  • 2391 or 2394/2395 Testing & Inspection qualification
  • Experience with electrical heating systems (panel and storage heaters)
  • Knowledge of electric cookers and cooking circuits
  • Strong ability to carry out installations, testing, and fault finding independently
  • Excellent understanding of Health & Safety regulations, including safe isolation
  • Confident communicator with a professional approach to customer interaction
  • Competent using PDA/mobile job management systems
  • Full, clean UK driving licence
  • Must hold (or be eligible for) SC clearance and meet BPSS requirements

Desirable

  • Experience within Planned Works, Voids, or Responsive Maintenance environments
  • Background working with MOD, local authority, or housing association contracts
  • Additional certifications such as Asbestos Awareness, Working at Height, or Manual Handling
  • Knowledge of PAS 2035/2038 retrofit and decarbonisation projects
  • Experience mentoring apprentices or supporting team development
