We are currently recruiting for an experienced Class 1 HGV Shunter to join a well-established and growing operation based in Wakefield for an extremely busy distribution centre. This role is not for the light-hearted as it will involve circa 100 moves plus per day in a 12-hour period, so needs someone with experience. This is a fantastic opportunity for drivers looking for a site-based role with no road work involved, offering excellent work-life balance on a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern.
The Role
- Shunting trailers around a busy distribution site
- Moving vehicles safely between loading bays and designated areas
- Conducting vehicle checks and reporting any defects
- Working closely with warehouse and transport teams
- Ensuring all site safety procedures are followed
Requirements
- Valid Class 1 (C+E) Licence
- Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
- Previous shunting experience preferred, but not essential
- Strong awareness of health and safety procedures
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
