Our client, a leading contractor within the social housing sector, is currently recruiting for an experienced Multi Trade Operative to join their growing repairs and maintenance team. This role is ideal for a skilled tradesperson with a broad maintenance background who can deliver high-quality repairs and excellent customer service within occupied and void social housing properties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carrying out responsive repairs and planned maintenance works
  • Completing a wide range of multi-trade repairs including:
    • Strong plastering knowledge & skills
    • Carpentry (doors, locks, skirting, basic repairs)
    • Plumbing (minor repairs such as taps, leaks, and sanitary ware)
    • Tiling repairs and replacements
    • Painting and decorating touch-ups
    • General property maintenance
  • Diagnosing faults and completing repairs efficiently to a high standard
  • Ensuring all works are completed within agreed service level agreements
  • Delivering excellent customer service while working in tenants' homes
  • Accurately completing job sheets and updating works via PDA/tablet systems
  • Following all health and safety procedures

Requirements

  • Carry out plumbing works including leak detection, hot/cold water repairs, immersion tanks and bathroom/kitchen installations
  • Support multi-trade repairs including:
    • Wall and floor tiling
    • 1st and 2nd fix carpentry
    • Patch plastering and making good
    • Painting and decorating to a professional standard
  • Record work accurately in real time via the Axis mobile app
  • Collaborate with supervisors, planners and admin teams to keep delivery smooth and efficient
  • Complete risk assessments and follow health and safety procedures on every job
  • Support apprentices and uphold Axis’s high standard of customer service
  • Work across occupied residential properties and be available to participate in out-of-hours support or emergency callout rota when required
