Operational Industrial Cleaning SupervisorSalary: £35,000–£40,000 + Quarterly Bonus (OTE £38,000–£44,000) per annum + Company Van (Personal Use)Location: Bristol - Covering Birmingham & south of England (Supporting Northern ireland)Employment Type: Full-TimeAbout the RoleWe are an agency recruiting on behalf of a leading specialist cleaning company seeking an experienced and highly organised Operations Supervisor to oversee cleaning teams and service delivery across retail sites nationwide.

This is a non-working, supervisory position. You will not be expected to carry out cleaning duties as part of your day-to-day role. Instead, you will travel across sites to oversee teams, monitor performance, ensure contractual KPIs and SLAs are consistently achieved, and make sure the quality of work meets or exceeds client expectations.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day management and coordination of staff across multiple sites, acting as the key link between operational teams, management and clients. The role will also involve reviewing site reports, monitoring completion of works, identifying issues and ensuring any actions are followed through promptly.

The successful candidate will be comfortable managing people remotely and across multiple locations, travelling extensively throughout the UK and working flexibly around operational requirements, including nights and early mornings when required.

Key ResponsibilitiesOversee the day-to-day performance of cleaning teams operating across multiple UK sitesTravel nationwide to carry out regular site visits, inspections and team meetingsEnsure all contractual KPIs, SLAs and service standards are consistently achievedMonitor the quality of completed work and ensure it meets client expectations and company standardsConduct regular site inspections and quality auditsManage and support staff across sites, providing direction, feedback and day-to-day supervisionMonitor attendance, punctuality, conduct and overall staff performanceIdentify performance issues and implement appropriate corrective actionsReview reports, photographs, completion records and other documentation submitted by site teamsEnsure all scheduled works are completed correctly and within agreed timescalesFollow up on incomplete, poor-quality or outstanding works and ensure they are rectifiedAct as a point of contact for operational staff and escalate issues to senior management where appropriateMaintain strong working relationships with clients and ensure their expectations are consistently metRespond to client concerns and ensure issues are resolved promptly and professionallyMonitor the use, condition and availability of equipment and materials across sitesEnsure teams comply with company procedures, health & safety requirements and site-specific rulesEnsure all relevant paperwork, site reports and compliance documentation are completed accuratelyIdentify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, service quality and team performanceSupport the recruitment, induction and ongoing development of operational staff where requiredProvide regular performance updates and operational reports to senior managementEnsure a consistently professional company image is maintained across all client sitesWhat We're Looking ForPrevious experience in a supervisory, management or operations role, ideally within cleaning, facilities management, industrial services, retail, logistics or a similar multi-site environmentStrong people-management and leadership skillsExperience managing teams across multiple locations or sitesA strong understanding of KPIs, SLAs, quality standards and service deliveryExcellent organisational and time-management skillsAbility to identify problems quickly and take ownership of resolving themConfident communicating with both operational staff and clientsStrong attention to detail, particularly when reviewing reports and quality standardsAbility to work independently and manage your own scheduleComfortable using smartphones, tablets, email and reporting systems to monitor site activityFlexible approach to working hours, including occasional nights, early mornings and weekends where operationally requiredWillingness to travel extensively throughout the UK and stay away from home when requiredFull UK driving licence essentialPrevious experience within the cleaning or facilities management sector is highly desirableWhat's on Offer£35,000–£40,000 basic salary, depending on experienceQuarterly performance bonus – OTE £38,000–£44,000Company van with personal useFuel and business travel expenses coveredAccommodation and travel expenses covered when working awayNon-working supervisory position – no routine cleaning dutiesOpportunity to take ownership of a nationwide operationLong-term career opportunity with a growing specialist cleaning businessFull support and training provided where requiredOpportunity to progress within the management structureThe Ideal CandidateThis role would suit an experienced Industrial Cleaning Supervisor, Area Supervisor, Operations Supervisor, Facilities Supervisor, Area Manager or Contract Supervisor.

You will need to be confident managing people, holding teams accountable for performance and quality, and dealing professionally with clients. Most importantly, you will be someone who takes ownership, follows up on issues and ensures that standards are maintained across every site.
