We are looking for a proactive and organised Factory Supervisor to support the day-to-day running of a leading manufacturing facility in Burntwood. In this role you will be responsible for overseeing production and warehouse operations, including planning activities, monitoring performance, and ensuring operational targets are consistently achieved.

The successful candidate will provide hands-on leadership across manufacturing and warehouse functions, ensuring safety, quality, efficiency, troubleshooting and technical operations during periods of absence, high demand, or escalation. This position is ideal for an experienced manufacturing professional who enjoys leading teams, improving performance, and maintaining a strong presence on the factory floor.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate daily production and warehouse activities across production manufacturing and dispatch.
  • Monitor production performance against KPIs that are set.
  • Support production planning, scheduling, shift coordination, and workforce allocation.
  • Provide technical and operational support to the Production Leader, including machine setup, troubleshooting, and production cover when required.
  • Track and report on KPIs such as OEE, downtime, throughput, reject rates, and labour utilisation.
  • Lead production teams to maintain safe, efficient, and productive working practices.
  • Promote high standards of housekeeping through 5S and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Support the onboarding, training, and development of production staff.
  • Work closely with Quality, Warehouse, and Maintenance teams to resolve issues and minimise disruption.
  • Escalate operational, production, or quality concerns and support corrective actions.
  • Maintain SOPs, work instructions, production records, and operational documentation.
  • Lead daily briefings ensuring effective communication across teams and shifts.
  • Support stock accuracy and efficient warehouse operations.
Key Skills and Competencies
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing and warehouse operations.
  • Experience within production environments involving machinery, automation, assembly, or injection moulding.
  • Effective leadership, organisational, and team management skills.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and coordinate resources in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good knowledge of production KPIs and performance reporting.
  • Practical, hands-on approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
  • Confidence supporting technical production activities and equipment operation.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience using ERP systems, production reporting tools, and Microsoft Office applications.
Qualifications and Experience
  • HND, NVQ, or equivalent manufacturing qualification and/or relevant practical experience.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years' experience in a Production Supervisor or Senior Team Leader position within manufacturing.
  • Previous experience in warehousing, plastics, assembly, automation, or light industrial manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement methodologies is advantageous.
  • Experience supporting production machinery and technical manufacturing processes.
