Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for new opportunities in Birmingham? Winner Education are seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant to work in a special school based in the Sandwell area. This role will start immediately on a long-term placement and will be full time. The successful applicant will have previous SEN experience, in particular with challenge behaviours and communication difficulties, and hold a minimum Level 3 qualification.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support to pupils with severe SEN requirements
- Assist the main class teacher in lesson preparation
- Tailor learning materials to the requirement of individual learners
- Assist with pupil progress reports
- Liaise with outside agencies when required
- Support the class teacher with pupil assessments
The successful SEN teaching assistant will have:
- A minimum of Level 3 qualification
- Previous SEN experience
- Previous experience working with KS3/4 SEN children
- Strong resilience and patience
- Previous experience working with children with ASC and challenging behaviours
- Used various communication methods
