An opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified and experienced individual to join our excellent production team in Bradford in the position of CNC Operator.

Reporting to the Foam Conversion Team Leader and employed on a full-time basis, the CNC Operator will join the conversion team, primarily working within the CNC department operating foam & cover CNC cutting machinery to manufacture foam mattresses, covers, components, and bespoke products to specification.

The role will also support other areas of foam conversion and production, including gluing, band knife cutting, de-foaming operations, packing, and general manufacturing tasks as required.

The CNC Operator will support production by ensuring CNC machinery is operated safely, efficiently, and accurately to meet production schedules, quality standards, and customer requirements.

This will also involve machine set-up, operation, routine maintenance checks, quality inspections, and material handling.

Additionally, the successful candidate will be required to assist in other production areas and on occasion, alternate shift patterns to cover absences.

This may include operating other conversion equipment, Gerber, packing, welding, or any production area that you are required and trained to work In.

  • Key tasks and accountabilities associated with the post are as follows;
  • Collaborate with the wider team to support continued quality of product, cost efficiencies and achieving KPIs.
  • Contribute to and improve the consistent delivery of high standards and process development within production and manufacturing operations.
  • Adhere to all Company standards of conduct at all times.
  • Deliver works in accordance with ISO procedures.
  • Any other task for which the postholder is qualified and experienced to undertake.

It is essential applicants possess previous experience operating CNC machinery within a manufacturing, production, foam conversion, woodworking, plastics, or similar environment with the ability to set up, operate, monitor, and adjust CNC cutting equipment to meet production requirements.

Strong attention to detail with the ability to consistently produce high-quality products to tight tolerances is essential as is a good understanding of machine operation, maintenance checks, and fault reporting procedures.

Applicants should possess the ability to conduct quality inspections and identify defects or non-conformances, demonstrate a flexible approach to work with a willingness to support other production areas, including gluing, bandknife cutting, de-foaming, packing, assembly, and general manufacturing duties as required.

Possession of an FLT licence is desirable however training opportunities are available for the right candidate.

Our production team is a happy team therefore it is important the successful applicant has good verbal communication skills, be flexible in approach to work and possess experience of working in a busy team, collaborating with colleagues.

Good timekeeping and attendance are essential as is attention to detail.
