As we continue to grow across the UK, we’re looking for an Internal Communications Manager to keep our teams connected, informed, and inspired. This role is all about bringing our voice to life across restaurants and support teams, making sure the right messages land in the right way, at the right time. You’ll play a key role in building a strong sense of community across our national team, keeping comms simple, engaging, and true to who we are.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end delivery of internal communications: creation, proof reading, templating, and archiving of content.
- Manage and continuously improve internal communication templates to ensure consistency and clarity across the business.
- Oversee and manage “The Sauce” internal engagement app, including content planning, cross‑functional collaboration, and third‑party provider management.
- Lead the planning and delivery of organisational announcements, ensuring messaging is clear, timely, and appropriately archived.
- Produce and distribute regular and ad‑hoc bulletins, including urgent communications when required.
- Develop and manage 6–12 week forward communication plans aligned to business priorities.
- Support and lead key internal communication projects (e.g. engagement survey communications, change programmes).
- Develop posters, noticeboards, toolkits etc to support frontline teams.
Stakeholder Management and Collaboration
- Manage relationships with internal stakeholders and external contractors to deliver effective communication solutions.
- Partner with People/HR teams to review and quality‑check employee communications (e.g. pay, policy updates), ensuring clarity and consistency.
- Hold departments to account on ensuring internal comms content is provided in a timely manner to support messages landing with teams across the business.
Innovating Communications for a Multi‑Generational, Diverse National Workforce
- Create inclusive, accessible communications for a diverse, multi‑generational workforce.
- Use digital and traditional channels to maximise reach and engagement.
- Tailor clear, relevant messages by audience, role and channel.
- Maintain an authentic, human and purposeful tone of voice.
- Encourage feedback, dialogue and employee voice.
- Build community by sharing stories, recognising achievements and highlighting diverse perspectives.
- Use data and feedback to continuously improve communications.
- Keep up with emerging tools and trends to support innovation.
Candidate Requirements
- Experience in internal communications, employee engagement or similar, ideally in retail, hospitality or multi‑site businesses.
- Creative communicator who can bring messages to life across written, visual and digital formats.
- Able to create engaging content for diverse audiences, including frontline, regional and support teams.
- Strong storyteller with a good eye for content people want to read, watch and engage with.
- Confident using video, basic design, social‑style content, apps and email.
- Comfortable testing new formats to improve reach, relevance and impact.
- Able to adapt communication style to feel human, energetic and true to the brand.
- Highly organised, able to manage multiple projects and stakeholders at pace.
- Focused on connection, culture and making communications feel human, not corporate.
