Role Overview

Working closely with the Group Financial Controller and ourthird-party outsourced core accounting function, the Group Financial Accountantwill be responsible for preparing Group and subsidiary financial statements,ensuring accurate reconciliation of financial transactions, and supportingfinancial reporting across the business.

The role will also take full ownership of propertyaccounting and play a key role in supporting the organisation’s financialgovernance, reporting accuracy, and operational finance processes. Thisposition combines strong technical accounting capability with commercialawareness, working closely with operational stakeholders to support financialperformance, cost control, and effective cashflow management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare yearly and half-yearly Group and subsidiaryfinancial statements
  • Own and maintain Group consolidation schedules and financial statementpresentation
  • Prepare and manage cash flow reporting for Group financial statements
  • Lead property accounting, including maintenance of the fixed asset registerand IFRS 16 lease accounting
  • Maintain lease schedules and ensure property-related financial records remainaccurate and up to date
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and analyse movements acrossaccounts
  • Identify and implement process and control improvements across financeoperations
  • Support preparation of financial information for year-end audit and interimaccounts
  • Manage relationships with external auditors and professional advisors,including tax compliance support
  • Maintain cash flow forecasting for rent and service charges
  • Ensure capital expenditure forecasts are accurate by working closely with theProperty team and external consultants
  • Review property-related invoices and support purchase order approvals
  • Support rent reviews and lease management alongside external consultants
  • Work with the Group Financial Controller to ensure timely review andcorrection of balance sheet postings
  • Continuously improve financial reporting, analysis and reconciliationprocesses across the Group

Skills and Experience Required

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA)
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and operational finance experience
  • Experience preparing financial statements and managing balance sheetreconciliations
  • Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to managedeadlines effectively
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to present financialinformation clearly and accurately
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with bothFinance and non-Finance stakeholders
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced and deadline-drivenenvironment
  • Collaborative approach with strong motivation and a proactive mindset
  • Technical accounting knowledge of IFRS, including IFRS 16lease accounting
  • Experience with Group consolidations
  • Experience working in multi-site environments such as hospitality, retail orleisure
  • Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar finance systems
