Wingfield Primary School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join our team. This role is pivotal in supporting the personal welfare and educational needs of our children, ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment. You will work closely with the SENCO and class teachers to facilitate children’s access to education, promote inclusion, and support achievement. Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the management of children’s behaviour, health, and well-being.
  • Prepare classroom resources and equipment for use during lessons.
  • Support individual education plans and class work under the guidance of the class teacher.
  • Motivate and assist children to stay on task and complete work effectively.
  • Accompany classes on school outings and support physical activities such as PE and drama.
  • Attend training sessions and INSET days.
  • Assist with minor accidents and supervise unwell children as directed.
  • Provide care and assistance to children, which may include hygiene, feeding, and supporting during break and lunch times.

Requirements

  • Level 2 qualifications in English and maths.
  • Training in communication techniques, creative play, and physical care is desirable.
  • Experience supporting pupils with communication, interaction, sensory, or physical impairments is advantageous.

All appointments are subject to appropriate pre-employment checks, including an enhanced DBS check. Our successful candidate will also be health checked and references will be requested before interview. We are an equal opportunities employer. Working hours are 08:40 - 15:40 with a 30-minute lunch break: 32.50 hours per week 39 weeks per year - term time plus 5 inset days. The Interview process will include a short observation of you spending time with a class.
