Role Description
The Youth Coach will deliver high-quality coaching sessions for youth players, focusing on technical skills, tactical understanding, physical conditioning, and positive attitude development. This part-time, on-site role in London involves planning and leading training sessions, preparing age-appropriate drills, and supporting players during matches and tournaments. The coach will provide constructive feedback, monitor player progress, and maintain a safe, inclusive environment where all participants feel respected and supported. Additional responsibilities include communicating with parents and guardians, collaborating with other coaches and staff, and upholding club standards and safeguarding policies.
Qualifications
- Coaching and player development skills, including the ability to plan sessions, teach fundamentals, and adapt activities for different age groups and abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build trust with young players, parents, and colleagues, and to promote a positive, inclusive team culture.
- Organizational and time-management skills for scheduling sessions, preparing training plans, and coordinating match-day logistics.
- Understanding of youth safeguarding, child protection principles, and health and safety practices in a sporting environment.
- Relevant football coaching qualifications (e.g., FA coaching badges or equivalent) and experience working with youth teams at grassroots or club level.
- Ability to work on-site in London during evenings and/or weekends, and commitment to the club’s mission of community engagement and support for disadvantaged groups.
- Experience in mentoring or education, and familiarity with the Ryman League or similar competitive environments, are beneficial.
