There is currently a vacancy for a Payroll Assistant at our busy Head Office in Nechells. The successful candidate will be part of our business support team and take on the day-to-day processing of payroll for the group. This includes all 4 super stores and the growing number of smaller convenience stores. This person will need to be able to manage multiple monthly payrolls from start to finish and the supporting work that comes with this from new starters and leavers to AOEβs, complex deductions and pension reporting.
This is a busy, challenging role for someone to come in and make themselves at home assisting with the future project of moving towards a bureau so we can concentrate on the employee facing payroll tasks in house.
Core responsibilities:- End to End Payroll Process β Collecting and verifying clocking information, entering data into payroll systems and processing payroll within deadlines.
- Data management β Maintaining accurate employee records, processing new hires, terminations, and any changes to payroll information like tax codes or benefits.
- Employee support β Responding to employee queries and resolving any payroll discrepancies or issues.
- Compliance β Ensuring all payroll activities comply with tax laws and company policies.
- Reporting β Generating reports on payroll expenses and other payroll activities for use by directors and finance.
